Storing and how to Cope Pilling on your Cashmere

Storing and how to Cope Pilling on your Cashmere

Here is the second of our two episodes about how to treat your cashmere best. This one will be about how to 'store' cashmere items and how to cope with 'pilling'.

PILLING
Pilling is a natural process even for high-quality cashmere. When your cashmere is new, it may appear to pile a little bit to remove the excess fiber. Pills are the little balls of fiber that start to gather on your shawl typically in areas where there is friction.

This a natural phenomenon and will reduce over time, making your cashmere feel even softer. One common way to stop or reduce pilling, in the beginning, is to carefully handwash or professionally dry-clean your cashmere.

STORING
You can protect your cashmere by storing it in a closet or drawer. A good tip is to separate your cashmere from other clothing, using for example our silk bags.

It is always a good idea to keep cashmere away from heat sources and direct sunlight to preserve the color and luxury of the cashmere fabric.

Cashmere will thank you for all the love you show for it. With proper care, you will treasure your cashmere for years to come!
